Given
the scarce nature of resources, the Whitney
Pier Youth Club places a particular
focus on those who have the least access
to available resources.

Chester
Borden and the Whitney Pier Youth Club
It looks like an
ordinary building, but stepping inside is like
coming home. There’s a feeling of kinship, even if
you have just crossed the threshold for the first
time, they welcome you like family. That’s a rarity
these days, especially in a place brimming with
youth of all ages from every walk of life. The
Whitney Pier Youth Club is Chester Borden’s labour
of love, and every corner of the building exudes it.
“How many people get
to say they truly love their work?” Chester asked
me. “I love what I do, man. I love everything about
this place.”
